Challenge
I typically help senior executives write and edit their own articles prior to publication, but this time, I decided to write a bylined article myself. Why? I saw an unfulfilled need and decided CEOs and senior leadership could learn how they can better support their marketing and communications teams at this point in the pandemic and beyond.
Action
I interviewed a number of marketing and communications staffers across the industry and developed 7 leadership tips to keep employees happy and productivity high by putting their humanity first:
Leadership that is flexible, decisive and decidedly humanity-first will retain the satisfied and productive marketing teams you need to keep your company open for business.
I asked a colleague from my team to edit my work and incorporated his feedback. After a final review and stamp of approval from my senior vice president, I submitted my article to Nutrition Industry Executive for publication consideration. Final word count? 1,225 words.
Result
My article was published! By presenting solutions to a business problem in a major industry publication, the article bolstered both my and my trade association’s perceived expertise and value. Read the article as an e-magazine or as a traditional web article.
